HIV And TB Plan Leaves South Africans Feeling Frustrated And Disappointed
- In the 80s and 90s the stigma and fear attached to HIV and Aids was so powerful, that many people avoided even the slightest contact with a suspected carrier of the virus. The advent of advanced medication and education on the topic saw a turn in the epidemic and incredible progress was made. This progress has, many argue, created a lax attitude among people about the virus. And although there is a lot to be thankful for, nothing has happened for us to think that the battle is over. Perhaps this is why the latest meeting held for the National Strategic Plan (NSP) for HIV, TB and Sexually transmitted infections left us feeling frustrated and disappointed.
