- The Chairman who stated this in an interview with Daily Trust, Thursday, revealed that many of his member died as a result of stigmatization, "not the Virus".
He said the House of Assembly was forced to promulgate the anti-stigmatization law to protect his over 24,000 members and prevent them from spreading/infecting innocent lives with the Virus.
"Our members are suffering in Northern Yobe: Machina, Yunusari, Yusufari, Gaidam and Karasuwa. Though awareness has improved in other parts of the state. Recently, a women was maltreated in Machina, we followed her case and relocated her to Damaturu.
"We want the law enforcement agency to set an example against this attitudes so that people can be afraid of maltreating our people by ensuring that the law has taken its course", he said.
